This most general conference, October 2023, seemed to feel more special than usual. We were fortunate enough to hear from wonderful church leaders from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. Some of the speakers included members of the 12 apostles, presidency members, and even out beloved prophet.

My heart resonated with the profound messages and inspired instruction from many of our great Church leaders. One talk that stuck out to me was the talk from Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf titled “The Prodigal and the Road That Leads Home”. Here he explains that we are often all multiple characters of the story. We can be the child who wishes to leave but knows home is ultimately we belong. We can be the son who has given constant effort but feels robbed of praise. Elder Uchtdorf states, ” Though choices may have taken you far from the Saviour and His Church, the Master Healer stands at the road that leads home, welcoming you.” How beautiful it is to know that we can always come and we will always be welcomed by His open arms.
As I apply this into my life, I try remind myself that I “hath all the Father hath” and that my actions can always be forgiven. May we continue to strive to be the humble son and willing to always return and to stay.
